Tasting Notes
Roosevelt, an eight year old Bearded Collie, presents our 2005 Syrah from the Las
Madres Vineyard located in the heart of the Carneros region of the Sonoma Coast.
The vineyard follows organic practices and generates complex, fruit-forward Syrah
grapes.
Our 2005 Syrah shows a strong, dark purple hue in the glass and delivers strong
combination of blackberries, pepper, olives, and earth. The wine presents a complex
and full-month feel through its long and rich finish. Aging in brand new and neutral
French oak, adds a toast overlay to the fresh Syrah fruit. It drinks well now and
should continue to deliver over the next 5-6 years.
Tasting Notes from Beverage Tasting Institute
Garnet black color. Cherry walnut ice cream, pencil, nut oil, and sautéed fennel
aromas follow through on a silky entry to a dry-yet-fruity medium-to-full body of
with savory herb accents. Finishes with tangy, smoky cedar, parsnip, and grilled
pepper fade. A very flavorful wine to serve with ostrich, and Latin beef dishes.
