AVA - Sonoma Coast
Split Rock presents an exceptional terroir for winegrowers to capture both the complexity
and intensity that comprise world-class Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Nestled on the
western hillside of Sonoma Mountain, the Split Rock's microclimate is predominantly
influenced by summer fog rushing in from the Pacific Ocean through the Petaluma
Gap. The soils are rocky and well-drained, ideal for Burgundian varietals.
Pinot Noir from Split Rock has deep violet color, multi-layered aromas of dark fruits,
spice and smoked meat, and is big, rich, lush and silky on palate It also contains
attractive black cherry, spice and earth flavors with great structure and grip with
a lasting finish
This vineyard consistently produces great fruit.
