Alex, a seven year old dapple dachshund, was found running the streets of Stockton
by Animal Control when he was about a year old. Days before his stay at the pound’s
“death row” expired, a family searching for a small dog to adopt spotted him on
Petfinder.com.
Extremely malnourished, Alex was a skeleton of the dog he should be. With a broken
tale from abuse or life on the street, Alex understandably showed some "fear aggression",
possessive behavior, growling, and snapping.
Alex’s loving family nursed him to health both physically and emotionally. Today
he's a happy, energetic dog who lives for walks, playing with his squeaky toys,
and napping in his La-z-Boy chair. Alex's social skills have come a long way in
his new loving and patient home, but he prefers his family to strangers, taking
his job as the family's burglar alarm system very seriously!
